Lotus Thai Restaurant, Wanneroo

I decided to take me brother and cousin out to dinner tonight. I took to them to a Thai restaurant called Lotus Thai Restaurant in Wanneroo. I have heard a lot of reviews about the restaurant so I wanted to try it out for myself. It actually turned out that my cousin had worked there for a brief period.

It was lovely inside and the atmosphere was very nice too. It was quite inside which was good for conversation and the staff were all friendly and helpful with helping me find something vegan friendly.

We ended up getting tofu, vegan stir-fried rice, sweet and sour vegetables and my brother got the chicken fried rice. The dishes were nice and flavoursome. The dessert menu also had some vegan friendly dishes but unfortunately we were so full from dinner that we couldn't squeeze anymore in. This is very unlike me :P

I had such a pleasant night, and if you're in the area then give this place a try. They do dine-in and take-away so whatever you're in the mood for, you can get a fix of Thai food.

Cafe Elixir, Wanneroo

I heard about a place called Cafe Elixir in Wanneroo a while ago and finally got the opportunity to eat there tonight for dinner. I was so surprised at how lovely the place looks. It was more like a fancy restaurant rather than a cafe. There were heaps of tables, inside and outside, and the place was just very neat and elegant.

Unfortunately there wasn't a vegan option on the dinner menu, but the staff were so helpful with finding something for me to eat. They combined a few different dishes to come up with a portabello mushroom filled with bruchetta topping (tomato and onion), basil pesto and a side of balsamic glaze. It was absolutely delicious and I was so grateful for their wonderful service. They were so good about finding me something vegan. I am one very very happy customer.

My friend's meal also looked amazing. This is the description: "Chicken breast stuffed with bacon, spinach and camembert cheese, wrapped in a delicate filo pastry and baked off, then topped with a creamy garlic sauce. Served on a bed of chips or mash potato with a side salad." Oh my goodness, it sounds just as good as it looked!

I'm so impressed with everything about this place. I had a great time eating here and I will be back to find something vegan for breakfast and lunch.

Opportunity Playspace

As it is currently school holidays for school kids here in Perth, I have been working more with my young client. Today we took him out to Rotary Park in Wanneroo.

Rotary Park has a children's play area called Opportunity Playspace. It was another great park in Perth which is good for kids with disabilities. We took our client there because there is a swing in the park called a Liberty Swing. It is specifically designed for children in wheelchairs. You put the wheelchair on the platform, secure it with chains which are provided and fasten on the seat belt which is attached to the swing. Then you swing away :)

I didn't get much time to take many photos of Opportunity Playspace, but check out these blogs here and here which have more in depth descriptions and great photos.

My client - one of the cutest kids I've ever laid eyes on :)
