Artic fire tea

I'm not sure if you already know this, but I am a massive tea fanatic. Love it! Sipping on a cuppa tea makes me a very happy girl...especially if I'm sipping from a dainty little tea cup with it's own matching saucer.

In my mind, tea is an all-occasions kind of drink. Well almost. When I'm having a late night studying, a cup of tea is there. When I'm enjoying something sweet for dessert, a cup of tea is there. When I'm out having breakfast with friends, a cup of tea is there. When I'm out and about in Northbridge and I feel like a cold drink, a cup of bubble tea is there. Tea is my faithful friend indeed. That is why, my something new today was exciting for me, even though other people may disagree.

I brewed up a nice little pot of a blend of tea I got from Liquorice Gormet Foods In Joondalup. The tea is called Artic Fire and it is a blend of China black tea, mint and blue cornflower petals. I really really liked this blend. The flavours were subtle and a tiny bit floral. What I liked most was that there was no bitter after taste. It was just that lovely subtle flavour from start to finish. I think that no matter how long you leave it brewing, it won't become bitter. But that's just my experience.

Not only did it taste good, but I love the blue petals in the tea leaves. It just adds a lovely splash of electric colour :)

Goji and acai berry tea

About 5 months ago I discovered a place called Liquorice Gourmet Foods in the Joondalup shopping centre. The place has shelves and shelves of self-serve confectionery, spices, loose leaf tea, coffee beans and dried fruit. On top of that they also sell bottled goods such as sauce, marinades and oils. But that's not it. There is also shelves of cookbooks and tea sets. The place is amazing.

It seems like just yesterday when I found the place, and today was the second time I went back in. I was so keen on getting my hands on some tea. There were so many different types and I want to eventually try all of them; or at least most of them.

I was a bit trigger happy today and ended up buying small amounts of about 6 different types of loose leaf tea. I bought the following:
Artic fire
Chai green
mango sencha
Goji and acai
Green guava and pomegranate
English breakfast (I bought it because I had run out of it at home, not because I've never tried it before :P I love EB)

This is just the wall of coffee beans & loose leaf tea!

The love the little blue cornflower petals.

After dinner I brewed up a small pot of the goji and acai. It was a lovely red colour and had a wonderfully sweet berry aroma. It tasted sweet, but it was still quite a strong flavour and had a bit of a strong after taste. I enjoyed this tea and I just loved how sweet it smelled.

With summer coming up around the corner, I'm sad that I won't be as eager to enjoy a nice steaming cup of tea, but I do love these new fruity flavoured teas that I've discovered because they would taste great chilled :)

Liquorice Gourmet Foods

When I went to Melbourne the other week, I asked my sister what she wanted me to bring back for her. All she asked for was for me to get some raspberry twists from a candy stand called The Sugar Station. They are set up around Melbourne in various shopping centre complexes; but they are only located in the eastern states.

I managed to find a Sugar Station and cleaned out pretty much the whole tray of raspberry twists. Unfortunately, when I was packing my suitcase to go home I had mistaken the plastic bag of raspberry twists for an empty rubbish bag. I was absolutley devetsted because my sister always brings home gifts for me and this was my chance to get her something she really wanted.

Ever since coming home, I've been on the search for the exact same raspberry twists.

Today I came across an amazing store called Liquorice Gourmet Foods. I don't really know how to classify it because it has walls and isles full of lollies, spices and teas for you to scoop into a bag and pay by weight.

I have never seen any shop quite like this one. Best of all, they sold the raspberry twists!

I didn't get much time to spend in the shop, but I know I'll go back for sure and take photos for you guys to see it. They also have a giant wall of loose leaf tea. I think I'll make it a mission to try each type of tea. I didn't even though there were so many different kinds. My mind was totally blown.

There are Liquorice stores are located around Perth in Claremont, Joondalup and Duncraig. If you have a sweet tooth I definitely recommend that you go. Or if you're like me and have a thing for tea, then go check out the enourmous range they have.

Photo from here.

Whenever I walk into a candy store, I automatically think of this scene from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory :) I watched this a lot while I was growing up.
